APPENDIX 10

9/56 YEAR CYCLE: PHILIPPINE EARTHQUAKES - 1600 - 2004

Moon Sun Finance

Appendix for the paper 9/56 year Cycles: Earthquakes & Volcanoes.

A listing of major earthquakes (1600 - 1900) was composed from a map presented by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology & Seismology. Of the 30 quakes given with a mag => 7.4 (see Table A this appendix), 17 appeared in the 12 months commencing February 1 of those years in Table B, which was highly significant (p < .001). Of the lesser quakes of about 6.9, only one occurred in these patterns and, if these were included,  significance was greatly reduced.

The 44 large Philippine quakes post 1900 (National Geophysical Data Center) fell preferentially in a similar 9/56 year gird (p > .01) (see Table D this appendix).

There were 8 major quakes in four months ended August 15 of those years in the ensuing 9/56 grid (1900 - 2004, where as 2.6 could have been expected.
